PadraigC A really great release - new layers of sound reveal themselves with each listen - it really grows on you.
The drones & loops are very entrancing. The first two tracks have a darker, unsettling vibe. The final track is lighter and floaty giving a sense of release and expanse.
It's a brilliantly produced, crisp and clear. I loved the artwork - the urban/city sprawl next to the dense trees cover. Favorite track: holding the mirror.

about

After leaving Berlin and spending a couple of weeks with my family I arrived in my new home Taiwan where I had to undergo two weeks of self-isolation. I crammed most of my gear into my luggage so I could set up my little studio right away. What came into being is this three track EP.

I felt very different recording and producing it. The "naive" and light Berlin sound was blown away, as I robbed myself of this super calm & safe space that I had gotten used to so much. Suddenly I was confronted with a lot of heaviness, confusion and a variety of internal struggle. I found that quite disturbing - hadn't I just arrived in some sort of paradise?

I utilized more field recordings, voices (including my own), percussion / beats and less synth sounds. No plugins besides EQ & compression have been used.

From a technical standpoint this EP represents a novelty and a turning point for me. Unlike my earlier releases where I live recorded all input onto a single track and later applied some degree of EQing, I implemented my birthday gift, a Tascam DP008EX, into my setup which allowed me to export each track into a DAW (I work in Reaper on Linux) and apply full mixing / mastering.

All this is very well reflected in the sound of Two weeks in 木柵 (Muzha).

I invite you to listen, REACH OUT TO ME and tell me what you think about it.

And please S H A R E if you want to make me truly happy. Don't necessarily buy. S H A R E.
